This July, Professor Ramsuran takes his research journey to Thailand, where science, collaboration and discovery come together across continents. From the vibrant research hubs of Bangkok to the cultural,
radiant and bustling landscapes of Chiang Rai and the coastal innovation spaces of Phuket, he will present his latest findings and engage with leaders and health experts from internationally recognised institutions throughout Thailand.
Follow along as ideas are exchanged, partnerships are formed, and new pathways for South Africa begin to emerge.
Addressing Southeast Asia’s most pressing healthcare challenges, the World Health Expo (WHX) Bangkok 2026 will bring together Professor Ramsuran and world-leading researchers, healthcare leaders, innovators, and industry experts to advance the future of global healthcare. Held over three days at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, the WHX will provide insight into the region’s fastest-growing health markets.
At the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and human genetics, Professor Ramsuran will explore how AI can read and interpret genetic information to uncover hidden signs of disease long before symptoms appear. By identifying risk patterns early, this approach enables a shift from reacting to illness to actively preventing it.
As part of his visit, Professor Ramsuran has been invited to conduct genetic testing at the five-star Chivitr Wellness Retreat in Phuket, where precision genomics is being integrated into luxury wellness experiences. Through these engagements and collaborations, he continues to help shape the future of predictive, personalised healthcare.
Appointed as a Visiting Professor at Mae Fah Luang University, Professor Ramsuran will collaborate on research advancing medicinal plant applications for global health. He has also been invited by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – Greater Mekong Subregion (CDC GMS) as a guest speaker to present his novel HIV discoveries at an invited seminar in Chiang Rai.
